I’m Kai of deluscar. I’m making a series of blog posts on how do one distinguish visual novels, and was planning to make a bonus/epilogue part of the post at the end as an interview from all the visual novel veterans I can find^^ I need some answers from you all, and once the interview post is up, I’ll put up your answers there. These questions are the main theme behind the topic:
“How would you distinguish visual novels from eroges, galges, dating simulations etc.. (including even 3D sex games like the ones from Illusion, just google "game illusion hentai” or something if you’re not sure what type of games Illusion does) Do you consider visual novels and them the same or different entities altogether? How would you also distinguish visual novels from graphical text adventure games? (Ace Attorney series, 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, etc..) Or do you consider them visual novels as well?“
